The Malaysian Agriculture, Horticulture and Agro-tourism (MAHA) 2014 is currently taking place from the 20th of November until the 30th of November 2014 at MAEPS (Malaysian Agro Exposition Park) in Serdang. MAHA is a biennial event (occurs every two years) so we decided to grab the opportunity to join them this year. We also believe that it is important to join MAHA this year as it is an event that encourages Malaysia as a centre for excellence in agro-based and agriculture industries.
This year, MAHA has grown to be much bigger and better. Theme for this year is ‘Agroteknologi Pemangkin Transformasi’ (Agrotechnology, the Transformation Catalyst). MAHA was first established to give importance to the agriculture sector in generating the countries’ economy as well as host variety of agricultural exhibitions.
This 11 days show was launched by our Prime Minister on the 22nd of November and will be open from 9am to 10pm. During the launch, our Prime Minister said that farming or agriculture are normally perceived as a ‘dirty’ or ‘low’ industry and the reason for this is usually due to the lack of use of modern technologies that could assist and expand the industry better. Therefore, farmers and producers were encouraged to utilise new technologies in order to be part of the food chain industry and reach to its highest potential. We at Rhymba Hills® also agree with this sentiment.
There are over 8,000 booths at the show and it is currently the biggest agriculture show in Malaysia – the Head Secretary of MAHA 2014, Mr. Azman Mohd Saad said that they are expecting over 3.5 million visitors this year. Of course one out of the 8,000 booths is our booth!
Come and visit us at MAHA 2014 – we will be waiting for you at Hall C, Booth E10!
